Knowing and acknowledging my strengths and weaknesses will help me develop as a person and help me progress in my professional career. Identifying the areas I need to improve can be done by certain personality tests. The Big Five personality test measures the five personality factors that psychologists have determined are core to our personality makeup.
I would recommend taking this test as it was fun and gave me a more detailed insight into my personal traits:
Openness: 90%
Conscientiousness: 54%
Extraversion: 40%
Agreeableness: 92%
Neuroticism: 67%
From completing this test, I agree that I am quite an open person, welcoming new ideas, opportunities, and new people. I do also recognise that I am a more introverted person, I know I tend to be shy until I find myself comfortable and sometimes I let myself be outspoken, this may be one of my bigger disadvantages however I do have many extroverted friends and colleagues from whom I'm always learning to push myself more out of my comfort zone. Rating high in neuroticism means I need to make more of an effort to be more confident in my abilities and my work. It will have a negative impact on my future work and job employment if I can't be more appreciative of myself.

"Being your own person and standing for what you believe is a critical aspect of a good professional life." - Patrick Pichette
Believing In yourself can benefit you more than you know, you do not have to rely on the praise of others and so you are able to recognise that you do have the ability to achieve your goals. As I become older and wiser, I hope to have a more positive outlook on life. I am determined for success, yet I need to learn to hone the areas I have less confidence in.
